‘Winter Warmers 2013/14

Whilst the sun may still have his hat on (hip, hip, hip hooray!), we’re planning ahead towards a time when you may need something other than sunshine to keep you warm! Throughout November and December 2013 and January and February 2014**, let the open fire of Fairhaven's Guest Lounge keep your toes toasty after a day out exploring the area.

As Autumn turns to Winter, things slow down a little, the crowds thin and traffic jams become a distant memory… you’re left alone with the natural beauty of the North York Moors. Clamber down to the Mallyan Spout or Thomasson Foss and see the waterfalls cascade again rather than trickle. Enjoy uninterrupted views and take your pick of the benches, watching your breath float over the moor. Explore the old Rail Trail and be the first to make footprints in the snow. Walk the beach from Sandsend to Whitby and hardly see a soul. It’s all yours.

We are open all year round (apart from a few days at Christmas), and from 4th November to 28th February**, we'd like to invite you to enjoy a 'Winter Warmer' stay with us. Arriving for a two or three-night stay either on a Monday, Friday or Saturday, take pleasure in having a two-course supper ready to greet you. Perhaps a hearty homemade Steak & Old Peculier ale pie followed by sticky toffee pudding with ice cream, or Duck leg roasted in red wine, rosemary & redcurrant jelly, followed by a slice of homemade apple and blackberry cake with cream? A glass of wine or a dram of whisky whilst sat beside a roaring fire, with good company and the book you've been meaning to start since you ran out of time on your Summer hols? For the remainder of your stay, the Mallyan Spout and the Wheatsheaf at Egton still serve good food in cosy surroundings with open fires. And our bar will keep you going when you're ready just to sit back in the lounge and not quite ready for bed! So, whether you fancy a few days’ walking or a more relaxed romantic break, visit us out-of-season and have the North York Moors to yourself…
